Product Description
Designed for capturing high-quality digital audio that can synchronize with timecode, the PDR from Lectrosonics is a digital recorder which captures industry-standard 24-bit/48 kHz audio in WAV (BWF) formats. It is particularly useful in situations when using a wireless microphone is impractical, such as when distance to a wireless receiver is too far, or when the quality of wireless recording simply won’t cut it.
The PDR stores its recordings on microSDHC cards, and accepts audio via its TA5M 5-pin male connection point. An LCD and on-board keypad allow for quick and intuitive operation of the unit’s controls. Via simple controls, the PDR’s input can be adjusted to record at both mic- and line-level sources, utilizing a Lectrosonics’ servo-bias preamp for both 2 and 4V lavalier microphones. You can also monitor directly from the unit through headphones or any compatible line-level device, so long as it boasts a 3.5mm connection point.
To synchronize time code with video and film production, a 5-pin LEMO jack is provided. This ensures that you can easily align its audio in the video timeline of any editing software, and gives you the ability to tether to a camera for the purpose of capturing a high-quality backup recording to boot. At 2.4 x 2.1 x 0.7″, the PDR is easy to conceal in costumes, and can easily be left out of sight on a set to capture ambiance, as well as environmental and location sound. Its machined aluminum construction is durable.
